About The Church.

Our Church may sound different or strange to some people. However, we are no different from any other church that is in a building. Church is a biblical word for "assembly." Assembly simply means the coming together of a number of persons for a particular purpose. And our purpose for Sermon on the Water is exactly that. We are the coming together of a number of persons to worship God Almighty. Our ultimate goal is the Great Commission of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

And He said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men." Matthew 4:19

Jason Watkins

Pastor Jason Watkins

Pastor Jason is the founder and pastor of Sermon on the water. He has been preaching the word of God since 2017. He has been teaching an Awanas class to 4th - 6th graders since 2004 at First Baptist Church Woodstock. He is a devoted husband of Sharon Watkins and is the proud father of Josh Watkins, Jessi Weiden, and son-in-law Matt Weiden. He has three grandchildren that he has been blessed with by God.

Born and raised in Georgia, grew up in Acworth and graduated from North Cobb High School. Was saved and baptized as a teenager and rededicated himself to the Lord in his early twenties. He became an ordained minister in January 2017 with United Christian Faith Ministries.
